Data Centre Leader: Matt Souders Industry: Cloud Computing

Oracle has repositioned itself as a builder of AI infrastructure at industrial scale. Capital expenditure reached US $ 55.7bn in the year to May 2026, funding 1.2GW of incremental capacity, with roughly US $ 70bn planned for the year ahead. Its US $ 638bn contracted backlog – much of it tied to OpenAI and the Stargate programme – shapes construction pipelines, power procurement and supply chains across the sector. Multicloud database services place Oracle hardware inside Azure, AWS and Google Cloud facilities.
