Alibaba Cloud continues to scale overseas, growing to 105 availability zones across 32 regions with recent capacity added in Mexico and Malaysia. CEO Eddie Wu has committed a historic 380 billion yuan( US $ 53bn) over three years to AI and cloud compute, a figure the group expects to exceed as demand scales. Alibaba is also hedging against hardware bottlenecks with its own silicon: in early 2026 it brought online a Guangdong cluster powered by 10,000 proprietary Zhenwu accelerators.
