OpenAI’ s compute demand has changed how the industry plans, finances and builds. Through Stargate – its infrastructure platform with Oracle, SoftBank and MGX – it is targeting 10GW of US capacity backed by US $ 500bn, with the flagship Abilene campus already operational. Its specifications drive adoption of high-density liquid cooling, closed-loop water systems and on-site generation, setting reference points developers now design towards. Parallel projects in the UAE and Norway are extending that demand overseas.
