SpaceXAI has compressed the data centre development cycle in a context where lead times are a pressing priority – filling a disused Memphis appliance factory with 100,000 graphics processors in 122 days. Colossus now spans three buildings across the Tennessee-Mississippi state line, holding roughly 770,000 GPUs and about 1GW of IT compute. To sustain this rapid buildout, the facility utilises a combination of dedicated on-site gas turbines and local utility power connections to meet its immense energy requirements.
