Cisco’ s SSE platform delivers unified, cloud-native edge security, protecting data centre workloads, cloud applications and remote users with Zero Trust policies
Cisco positions its edge security strategy to meet the needs of data centre operators managing increasingly hybrid and distributed environments.
At the centre of its approach is the Secure Access Security Service Edge( SSE) platform, a cloud-native solution that integrates Secure Web Gateway( SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker( CASB) and Zero Trust Network Access( ZTNA) into a single framework.
For operators, this means consistent protection across core data centres, public cloud services, branch offices and remote workers. The platform enables secure web filtering, malware detection, granular access to private applications and robust defence against shadow IT – critical for safeguarding sensitive workloads moving between on-premises infrastructure and cloud ecosystems.
Cisco’ s edge security is further enhanced by Talos threat intelligence, one of the largest commercial threat research teams, combined with AI-driven analytics to identify and neutralise risks in real time.
“We’ re helping businesses achieve secure, scalable, and efficient connectivity, no matter where their users or devices are located”
Raj Chopra, SVP & Chief Product Officer, Cisco
By consolidating multiple functions into a unified service, Cisco helps data centre teams reduce reliance on disparate tools, lower operational complexity and strengthen resilience. The result is scalable, policy-driven protection that secures traffic and workloads wherever they reside, from the data centre core to the farthest edge.
