ENERGY & POWER
The data centre sector is set for a transformative leap forward in energy and power management, with Honeywell and LS ELECTRIC announcing a global strategic collaboration.
This partnership, unveiled in October 2025, places the spotlight firmly on advanced battery energy storage systems( BESS) that are tailor-made for improving the efficiency and resilience of data centres and commercial buildings.
This development comes at a time when data centres worldwide are experiencing surging electricity needs. With current estimates suggesting that these facilities already consume between 1 % and 2 % of global electricity production – a figure that is forecast to rise dramatically – operators face mounting pressure to evolve.
Uninterrupted uptime is nonnegotiable for mission-critical applications, so innovation in BESS technology is seen as the linchpin for future growth and service continuity.
Integrated power: A blueprint for reliable operation At the core of this strategic partnership is a vision of seamless integration: Honeywell, with its deep expertise in building automation and controls, is joining forces with LS ELECTRIC’ s renowned proficiency in power systems and energy storage to offer an end-to-end solution for the industry.
As a result, the two companies will provide data centre operators with integrated switchgear alongside
intelligent power management hardware and software. This combination will not only help control and distribute electrical power efficiently, but also ensure that mission-critical systems remain online without disruption. The strategic partnership aims to facilitate integrated power and control solutions that will help data centre operators avoid costly downtime via intelligent power management.
Going forward, Honeywell and LS ELECTRIC intend to roll out advanced electrical power monitoring systems, built atop the Honeywell Forge platform
