AI IN DATA CENTRES
Data centre growth continues to be driven by the rapid evolution of AI technology . A 2024 report by Cushman & Wakefield found that data centre real estate is continuing to surge around the world , predominantly on account of AI .
The report also found that the data centre market surpassed all expectations in 2023 , growing rapidly . In particular , colocation and hyperscale services grew across major markets in both EMEA and APAC .
As a result , the report cited recordbreaking absorption of IT load . Vacancies have fallen to new lows worldwide , with demand from cloud providers having consumed large blocks of capacity . multi-tenant data centres ( MTDCs ) are extremely efficient and have the white space and fibre backbone to support these builds .
“ To ensure that power and cooling delivery are appropriately balanced , efficient white space design needs to be top of mind for providers when supporting a tenant ’ s AI installation .”
Cloud companies are already working to build more data centre capacity , moving to newer areas across the Asia-Pacific region , Latin America and the Middle East and Africa .
