HOW DIGITAL TWINS WORK
Dave King explains that , by using power network diagrams fed by data , digital twin software enables operators to assess the impact of changes or failures to the power distribution and identify power delivery issues based on accurate , real-time information . He says : “ With a digital twin in place , facility managers can bring power and cooling utilisation into clear view , helping to optimise both . In addition , digital twins can track and identify available power and system capacity in the model using live measured power , design loads or budgeted and sold power values .
“ Moreover , data can be aggregated into zones and cages to give users insight into power usage and availability across the data centre .”
