Amazon’ s proposed Cascade Advanced Energy Facility would see four SMRs with an output of 320MW running by the end of the decade. Meta Platforms has signed an agreement with Oklo Inc to develop a 1.2GW power campus in Pike County, Ohio, to prepay for power and provide funding to advance project certainty for Oklo’ s Aurora powerhouse deployment.

Advances in liquid cooling, such as direct-to-chip techniques, mean that cooling can be targeted, specific and efficient. This advanced cooling allows the equipment densities to work, where rack energy density has gone from just 2-3kW per rack five years ago to 20-30kW in the last two years, with spikes of 100kW in certain instances, and roadmaps indicating 1000kW in the near future, according to the latest industry research.
This requires new approaches to design and operation with highly instrumented orchestration and management systems to ensure consistent operation.
