Considerably expands its footprint, with four new points of presence( PoPs) – all in the Docklands area of London its staff and offers them ownership, accountability and empowerment.
“ It’ s about keeping that authenticity and culture of honesty from the topdown because then it filters down to everyone else,” she says.
“ During COVID, it was difficult to empower people because everyone was remote-working. Our challenge now is to communicate our strategy clearly so everyone knows what they’ re doing. I want it to be a team effort and I want everyone to feel like they’ re part of it.”
The organisation has made an active effort over the last five years to recruit interns and graduates from local colleges across the UK. This has not only been to invest in the next generation of talent, but also to champion women in the data centre industry.
“ We’ ve had about half a dozen really strong female students coming in either as interns to do work experience and we’ re now at the stage where we’ ve converted some into permanent staff,” Jennifer says.“ That’ s what we want to do and that’ s the kind of thing, alongside our ESG initiatives, that we want to talk about more.” datacentremagazine. com 83
